Our ThinkForward and MoveForward coaches across the country have all been welcomed back into their schools and colleges and can see their young people face-to-face again. We are holding remote employability activities and continue to develop creative new ways of hosting these activities virtually. To ensure the safety of our staff and young people we work within the health and safety guidelines set by schools and follow government advice.
Our summer Covid-19 survey provided us with lots of information about how our young people have been affected by the impact of the virus and lockdown. The findings told us that many struggled with access to technology, felt their mental health was worse or had strained relationships with family and friends. Not surprisingly, more than half of young people reported that their future is their main concern. More than a third said their coach was their main support provider.
ThinkForward’s commitment to our young people remains the driving force behind all that we do, and we will continue to work with them through the uncertainty of the months ahead.
